e Invoicing Phase 2

E-Invoicing is a system in which B2B invoices are authenticated electronically by Zatca for further use on the common VAT portal. Under the electronic invoicing system, an identification number will be issued against every invoice by the Invoice Registration Portal 

All invoice information will be transferred in xml format. Buyers only accepted e-Invoices registered & having QR Code, also for B2B transactions.

FAQ's

1- How can I share my invoice with the buyer/customer?

A printed copy of the tax invoice (or note)/simplified tax invoice (or note) which has been generated electronically must be provided to the customer. An electronic only format can also be shared – if it is agreed between both the parties.

2- Is there a specific format required for storage of transactions ?

The transactions should be stored in an XML format and the same will be required to be submitted to ZATCA e-Invoicing API/portal with Hash of that XML and UUID.

3- Should my POS & ERP should be certified by ZATCA for Phase One?

No, but ZATCA may enforce such requirement at later stage.

4- Can I generate invoices using excel or word, print it and keep a copy of it for e-Invoicing?

No, any type of handwritten or manual invoicing is not allowed from Phase-1 itself.

5- How will customer’s scan the QR code? Do sellers need to provide any app/service for this?

Customer’s will scan the QR code using their phone scanner also ZATCA might launch an app which will allow them to scan the QR code and see the contents.
